Have written specifically on Liberia and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

Currently writing on African American views of slavery and social
oppression in Africa: "Brothers and Strangers: Back-to-Africa, Imperialism
and the Specter of Slavery, 1914-1940."

Other research project concerns the creation of a Afro-Latin identity
in the Americas and its precursor, the Spanish slave trade.
