Research Interests	Research and writing focuses on the social history of colonial Uganda. Current projects (September 2000) include an interdisciplinary examination of the Uganda Agreement of 1900, and research on women and law in colonial Buganda.
Teaching Interests	Teach a broad array of courses, including a one-semester introduction to Africa, graduate and upper level undergraduate surveys, and specialized courses on slavery and slave trades, and African women.
