Research Interests	Late 18th century-early 19th century history, especially south India: Mysore; Karnataka; Tipu Sultan. Research interests include cultural history; kingship; royal ritual and display; religion, particularly Hindu/Muslim interaction; early colonial history; south-Asian anthropology. Indian languages: Indo-Persian Current research project is a study of the final years of Tipu Sultan's reign and the fall of Srirangapattana (Seringapatam), its local impact and consequences.
