Research is in precolonial Zulu history.

Ph.D. was entitled "Ideology and religion: The missing link in explanations for the rise and persistence of the Zulu state."

Works in the area of quality assurance and enhancement in higher education.

Particularly interested in issues affecting women's development in academe.
