Recherche | Dissertation investigated the "Images of Africa", focusing on the manner in which Africa has been imaged and reproduced by early Western writers and photographers and the impact that their work has had on their contemporaries. Specifically, I investigated the hypothesis that contemporary writers and photographers, at a subconscious level, have been responsible for perpetuating the image myths created by their forerunners. Researching specifically Benin, Lesotho, South Africa and Togo. |
Publications | Produced travel guidebooks on such varying destinations as Romania, Athens and Togo. Guidebooks Co-authored on Africa include Lonely Planet's current South Africa, Lesotho & Swaziland and West Africa. |
